We've sifted through the photos from KeyShot RenderWorld 2018 and can't wait to give you a little taste of what this year's conference was like. Even with all the preparation and planning, seeing everything come together on that first day and to actually experience it is just completely different. Hopefully, this provides a sense of what it was like and, if you weren't able to join us this year, make plans to go next year - you won't want to miss it.
Now in our third year, KeyShot RenderWorld returned to Huntington Beach at the Pasea Hotel where the sun was challenged by misty mornings and cool afternoons. There were moments of sun though and, once again, the location was great - right off the beach and just the right size to relax and talk with old friends, meet new friends and learn more about KeyShot.
We sold out of hotel space at the Pasea yet again with nearly 300 people attending . We had KeyShot users from all over the United States and other countries represented as well. There were 3D professionals from a wide array of industries and many comments on how RenderWorld has turned into a Who's Who among the top companies, designers and visualization professionals. What was most memorable for us was both seeing the long time KeyShot users and those just beginning to use KeyShot along with hearing people collaborate throughout the days, learning more about each other's visualization process.
RenderWorld sponsors are unique. Not only do they have products and services to be used with KeyShot, but they are also Luxion customers and partners. Back again this year, we had 3D Off the Page sharing their rendering service and X-Rite as a presenting sponsor with their TAC 7 material scanner. For the first year, HP, teaming with Intel, was presenting sponsor and our exclusive hardware sponsor. AMD rounded out our exhibiting sponsors demonstrating KeyShot capabilities with the Ryzen Threadripper processor. We had, not one but, six product sponsors including UAG, 3Dconnexion, Wacom, Stanley Black & Decker, GoPro and LEO. We are extremely grateful to the sponsors who helped make this event possible!
This year, we reduced the number of main session speakers, added two customer technical sessions and another keynote address. The days were just packed with insight from so many. Day one of the conference kicked off with three speakers: Benny Lee of Coca-Cola Company, Mike James of Thomas Burke & Others, and Justin Williams of Fitbit. Day two featured three main session speakers as well with Jennifer Burke of KI, Seth Rumsey of Lenovo, and Justin Schlothauer of Under Armour.
Tuesday afternoon featured the two Customer Technical Sessions where David Merz of Armstrong White and Tim Zarki of MNML provided workshops to breakdown specific product visualization techniques.
Each speaker over the two days shared an intense amount of insight to their process and how they approach a project with application and tips thrown in along the way.
We were honored to have, not one but, two veterans of the consumer product industry as our keynote guests this year. On Monday evening, Jeff Hoefer, Head of Digital Imaging for Google Brand and Hardware, took us on an inspirational journey of his journey through projects that have defined generations, describing how visualization has played such an critical role in product design and stressing the importance of having mentors. Tuesday, Scott Wilson, Founder and Principal Designer at MNML, took us through the startups and successes, challenges and failures, that brought him to where he is today running the extremely successful product development design studio known around the world.
We had a strong focus on KeyShot customers this year and how they have shaped KeyShot. Customers had the opportunities for interviews and to talk with the developers. Monday morning, we held a special presentation revealing the ways Luxion has worked with customers on specific visualization needs and the part they played in the features and development of KeyShot. And Tuesday, attendees saw how this cooperation has led to new features in a special preview of KeyShot 8, revealing the top new features coming later this year to KeyShot. VR is an important part of new, upcoming workflow capabilities in KeyShot and attendees had the opportunity to use the 'one click' VR solution, provide input and discuss their applications.
The workshops were mini-training sessions covering new technology, lighting, materials and animation. We didn't want to require sign-ups for workshops this year, so we left them open and provided two different times for workshops we knew would be popular. This worked great and kept anyone from missing one or another. While we reduced the total number of workshops, we added workshops for Network Render, VR and two for customers to have the opportunity to go deeper into how they create visuals with time to answer questions. You can see what was covered in the workshops here. Of course, we're interested to hear which ones you liked most and what you would like to learn in these workshops at next year's conference.

Speaking of next year's conference, we're already looking forward to KeyShot RenderWorld 2019! We've had a lot of feedback on RenderWorld 2018—what you liked and what could be better.
